Dr. Nan Jack Dr. Nan Jack graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. After practicing at two other clinics in Richmond, she then opened Church Hill Animal Hospital in January of 2003. She enjoys being the family vet and providing general medicine and surgery to her clients and their pets. One of her many passions involves educating the public and helping care for stray dogs and cats in the area with a particular interest in feral cats. |

Dr. Carolyn Clay Carolyn Clay was raised in Henrico County, Richmond, VA. She went to Radford University and attained her Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Post college she knew that veterinary medicine was for her and she went on to attend Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech graduating in 2004 with high honors. She has worked with Dr. Jack since 1996 and, following graduation, she went to work for Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic for experience in exotic animal care until 2007. In 2007, she rejoined Dr. Jack at Church Hill Animal Hospital. Her professional interests are in animal behavior, managment of chronic pain (i.e. arthritis and improving quality of life), dermatology, exotics and curbing pet overpopulation through spay / neuter. She lives in Montpelier with her husband, 2 children, 5 dogs, 3 cats and 1 bird. |

Dr. Devlyn D'Alfonzo, CVA Devlyn D’Alfonzo grew up on the in Richmond's Woodland Heights neighborhood. Early on, she knew she wanted to become a Veterinarian and worked with Dr Jack as a Veterinary Assistant prior to attending Veterinary school. In January of 2009, Dr. D’Alfonzo obtained her DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with High Honors and went on to pursue an internship at the Veterinary Emergency Center. In March of 2010 she joined the Church Hill team as an Associate Veterinarian. Her primary professional interests include critical care, internal medicine, and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. Dr. D'Alfonzo has completed certification for veterinary acupuncture, and enjoys practicing a more blended medicine approach. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband renovating their 90 year old home, riding her horse, and spending time with her 4 cats and dog. |

Vet Technician - Nichole Cullather Nichole Cullather has been the technician at Church Hill Animal Hospital since August, 2006. At an early age, Nichole began working in pet stores learning about animal care and nutrition. In 2001, she continued her career as a veterinary assistant at the Veterinary Emergency Center, and she met Dr. Jack the same year while working at another veterinary hospital. Nichole graduated from St. Petersburg College, Florida as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in December of 2009. Her interests include radiology, hematology, anesthesiology, exotic pets and performing dentals. Nichole would, one day, like to produce public service announcements aimed at educating the community on the importance of animal care and welfare. |

Office Manager - Katie Lawyer Katie Lawyer has been working at Church Hill Animal Hospital since the hospital opened in February of 2003. She started out as a part time veterinary assistant and became office manager in 2004. Katie strives to achieve a comfortable, friendly environment where people can receive quality care for their companion animals. |

Head of Security - Smokey Smokey has been our head of security at Church Hill Animal Hospital since May, 2003. He patrols the hospital on a regular basis, canvassing for intruders and unsavory characters. In his spare time he enjoys fine dining and naps in front of the heater. |

Front Desk Supervisor - Sugar Bean Sugar Bean has been the front desk supervisor at Church Hill Animal Hospital since December, 2009. She has always been interested in office management and possesses a unique skill set which makes working at our hospital right up her "alley." In her spare time she enjoys laser pointer aerobics and countertop yoga. |

Director of Sanitation - Samantha Samantha joined the Church Hill Animal Hospital family in February, 2005. She works behind the scenes to ensure that no crumb is left uneaten and all dishes are pre-rinsed. In her spare time she enjoys life in the country where she rolls in horse manure and herds chickens. |
